- What should I expect at an individual organizing session?
During an organizing session, Felisa works one-on-one with you to create an organizing system that is tailored to your way of thinking and work habits. She works with you to understand how you function by asking many questions about all aspects of your work, office space, work habits, communication style, and how you think. She wants to accurately capture the way you work in order to develop a great system for you. Back to top
- What should I expect at an administrative systems consulting session?
A consulting project involves looking at the shared administrative resources of a small company or department. Sessions can consist of interviewing the administrative assistant team and managers, observing assistants' work habits, and reviewing the current shared administrative systems including office paper-flow, filing, and electronic resources. With this information, Felisa develops an evaluation of both the administrative assistant team and/or administrative systems and suggests what steps can be taken to optimize the existing systems.Back to top
- Can we meet in person before beginning our organizing sessions?
Absolutely. Felisa often recommends having a 15-20 minute "greet and walk-through" of the office space. Most clients have an easier time describing their organizing issues while in their space. You may also choose to skip the "greet and walk-through" meeting and schedule a regular first session.Back to top
- How should I prepare for my first appointment?
The first session will focus on areas where you have challenges or concerns. If you can, please spend time during the course of the week prior to the session jotting down problems as they arise. Past clients have had noted things such as: misplaced documents; finding mistakes "after the fact"; difficulty prioritizing; missed deadlines; overlooked tasks; difficulty finding shared documentation. With a list of the elements you want to focus on, the first session will be even more productive!Back to top
- What types of supplies should I have on hand?
Please make sure you have a good stock of manila folders and hanging folders that fit your filing cabinets (legal or letter sized as applicable). Also, please make sure you have tabs and tab fillers, file labels (Avery or other), and post-its. Back to top
- How long is each session?
Depending on your needs and schedule, an individual session can last 2-4 hours. The minimum appointment time is 2 hours, however, 3-hour sessions are suggested while completing the initial stages of organizing. The individual(s) involved should plan on being present for the whole appointment. Projects involving shared resources vary depending upon the company, the type of project, and the stage of the project.Back to top
